I love my sandwiches especially Italian grinders. These are among the very best. Quality ingredients great bread, made well. Can't get much better than Dee's. Unfortunately there can be a long line at times but it moves a long. Highly recommend

Iconic old school italian deli.  Nothing fancy...Nothing new and trendy in terms of sandwich combinations...Just sticking to their roots and consistently providing great sandwiches to their  customers that have been regulars for years and years.

My go to is the rabe and sharp provelone.  Make sure to get there early as it tends to sell out later in the afternoon.   The provelone is in chunks and not sliced.  This gives huge flavor bites of the cheese along with the bittery garlicy greens.  Something so simple just done right.

The bread is something that sets this place apart from other delis.  The texture ans chew of the bread is juat right and makes any sandwich that much better

For my 300th Yelp review, I wanted to pick a winner, and Dee's is certainly worthy of this milestone review.  There seems to be an epidemic of mediocrity lately, given my recent streak of 2- and 3-star reviews.  Fortunately, Dee's broke that streak ....

My coworker, John, introduced me to this place.  We arrived at 11:30 a.m., and within minutes, a line stretched to the door.  I was about to find out, firsthand, why they are so popular.

Being an aficionado of Italian grinders, that's what I ordered for my maiden voyage at Dee's, although the pastrami looked tempting.  Normally, I ask places to hold the onions and hot or banana peppers, but John convinced me to try one with everything on it.  Their daily specials included clam chowder, so I added that.

I did not find anyone at Dee's rude, as some reviewers have stated, although the fact that John is a regular probably made a difference.  The young Italian woman who made my sandwich was all business (which some people might misinterpret as being cold), but she made a damn good sandwich, and damn fast, too.  The older woman at the register had a strong personality and joked around with John, but I had no problem with her either.

Most customers get their food to go, as there are only four tables, but John and I dined in, and I was glad we did.  We sat at a large, round table, which had a classic red-and-white checkered tablecloth.  New England professional sports team memorabilia decorated the walls, and Me TV played on a small flat-screen (John hates that channel, but someone stole the remote, he said).  Our table was located to the left of the door, but I did not feel crowded in, even when the line got long.  Since three or four employees made sandwiches, however, they knocked the line down quickly.  (Tip:  If you call in your order, you can go right to the register when you arrive to pick it up, without having to wait in line.)

My small Italian grinder was a bargain at under $6, and a work of art.  The bread was not too hard and not too soft, and had good flavor as well as texture.  Meats, cheese and vegetables were all very fresh and good quality.  Even before I even bit into my sandwich, the deep, vibrant colors of the vegetables hinted at their freshness.  They used just the right amount of oil and vinegar, and spices.

I'll say it publicly:  Dee's just ousted Pauly Penta's Italian Deli for the title of best Italian grinder, in my opinion.  All the five-star reviews for Dee's, especially for their Italian grinder, are the real deal, not just hype.

Now that that's settled, their New England clam chowder was equally good - I'd put it up against Iggy's, Monahan's or anyone else's chowder.

I didn't know how much the chowder cost, but my meal, which included a 20-oz. Coke, came to about $14.  It was a bit of a splurge for me, but I don't mind paying more money if the quality is there, and it definitely was.

Classics, quality, and delicious. A Cranston staple, hands down the best sandwiches around. The pasta salad is delicious, everything's fresh and made to order. I can't get more impressed than I am every time we order in.
Staff is so polite and sweet, can't help but love Dee's!

So after years of wanting to try this place. We finally ordered Saturday.  We picked up the sandwiches to take home. The service was very good! The staff was very polite! I ordered a large italian with everything and ordered a small italian with everything for my girlfriend. I get home and pull a 2' long sandwich out of the bag!!!!! I couldn't believe this is the large. Not even exaggerating, the sandwich was 2' long.  And the small was 1' !!!  I took one bite and fell in love !!! Perfect amount of meats and veggies and dressing !!!! The bread is very fresh!!!! Probably the best Italian I've had yet def beats Pauly Pentax italian and what a bargain the large was $11.50 for 2'!!!!!! And small was $6 for a 1' small!!! We will def be returning!!! And if you are as foolish as me haven't gone yet. Go!!!!! You will not be sorry !!!!!
